Salutations. My name is Ethan Lewellen. I'm 21 years old, I practice Integrated Marketing Communications for a living, and I love sports...
...not just sports, but its business. It's obvious that the games these professionals play are of child-like understanding. But, the business? The business is so much deeper.
I am addicted to this art that we call marketing; to this unexplainable love story that we call advertising; and to the beautiful conversation that we call public relations. I feed my addiction through sports.
It's amazing how athletes are constantly trying to elevate their game. They want to be better than the norm on the court, field, ice, or where ever they practice their craft. Not only do their talents lead to incredible contracts, endorsements, and fame, these athletes become a brand. Their name represents something bigger and more incredible than they could ever imagine. The content that I manage on this site is to celebrate, critique, and discuss athletes, sports teams, athletic apparel, and other sports-related branding and news from a marketing/PR/advertising perspective.
Sports are a medium enjoyed by people of all ages and cultures from around the world. The products created and the revenue generated is groundbreaking; and it can shape and define moments in our lives. In my field, like a lot of you who are productive and progressive, I am aiming to become the very best that I can be and nothing less. I refuse to be average. An outlook that is very similar to the athletes and sports industry figures that I will be discussing. They're not the only ones who want to Go Above Modern Expectations.
Now, that's GAME.
